SCORG – (Screw Compressor Rotor Grid Generation)
SCORG is the software for the design and analysis of Screw Compressors, Pumps and Motors. It offers a unique capability to generate numerical meshes for Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). It also allows fast and reliable performance calculation using Thermodynamic Chamber Models (TCM). It is designed to minimise efforts and maximise efficiency of the design process by enabling geometry analysis, preliminary thermodynamic evaluation and grid generation of the large number of positive displacement rotary machines with multiple rotor arrangements.
SCORG has very friendly and easy to use Graphical User Interface (GUI). Using that interface the user can easily import existing geometry of the rotors from data point files obtained analytically, numerically, by measurement or from a CAD system. It allows easy manipulation, scaling and modification of such rotors. With the module for design of the rotor profile customers have an option to provide their own designs of rotors. The GUI is capable of presenting resulting files in a number of graphical and textual formats.
CFD Grid Generation
SCORG can be used for design, grid generation and analysis of a variety of screw machines including:
- Screw compressors with two or more rotors,
- Single phase and multiphase screw pumps with two or more rotors,
- Single phase and multiphase screw motors with two or more rotors,
- Roots Blowers,
- Hook and Claw compressors, pumps and motors,
- Gear pumps and Gerotor pumps,
- Progressive Cavity pumps,
- Rotary screw extruders.
SCORG generates numerical mesh and pre-processing scripts for direct link and easy connection with commercial CFD solvers and Engineering software such as PumpLinx, ANSYS CFX and STAR CCM+.
Rotor Geometry and Thermodynamic Chamber Model
SCORG allows full analysis of geometric features of the machines and preliminary thermodynamic analysis of the performance of such machines. Thermodynamic results are later used as initial conditions for CFD, Structural analysis by use of Finite Element Methods (FEM) or Fluid Solid Interaction (FSI).
